I’ve written everything from puzzle and joke books to blogs and reviews. Whatever your target audience, the chances are I’ve written something for them. Over the years I’ve specialised in football, movies, children’s media, video games and art, but I love a challenge and I’m happy to turn my hand to any subject. My latest book, Arty Facts – a fun art trivia book aimed at kids – was published by Tate in 2019
As an experienced editor who spent over seven years working on licensed books, ebooks and apps for Penguin Random House, I know how to shape content to fit any tone of voice. From the early stages of page-planning, briefing designers and commissioning writers, right through to copy-editing and making those all-important final tweaks, I’ve managed hundreds of projects across multiple subjects.
I spent four years writing promotional copy for TV channels including Channel Five, ESPN, Discovery, SyFy, National Geographic and loads of others. I’ve also written Amazon copy for over a hundred different books. Whether you need brand new copy or someone to bring your old copy to life, I’m always up for the challenge.
I’m a fully trained (NCTJ and BJTC qualified) print and broadcast journalist, with experience in feature writing, interviewing and news reporting. My work has appeared in multiple magazines, newspapers and websites – and during my student years I even had my own column on Teletext!
Proof-reading and fact-checking
Having worked on countless fiction and non-fiction book projects, I understand the importance of cutting out typos and getting your facts right. I’ll go through your copy with a fine-tooth comb and make sure it’s as good as it possibly can be.
Social and digital media
I’m a social media obsessive with over 2,000 followers on my personal Twitter account. I’ve also managed blogs, written e-newsletters, moderated online forums and set up websites using WordPress and Wix. In 2019 I also launched my own new blog, Food Travel Football. If you’re looking for someone to help out with your digital content, give me a shout (or a Tweet!).
I’ve even been known to do a bit of illustrating! I’ve illustrated two books for Tate, and my doodles have also appeared in football fanzines. Check out my portfolio on this site for some samples of my past work.
